The music of pianist-composer James D'Angelo rises from the mainstream of tonal styles — the early 20th-century Impressionists through Prokofiev, Holst, Hindemith, Copland and Barber — and reaches into the modern jazz language of the 1950s and 60s. A contemporary composer drawing on jazz and his classical influences alike, his work is presented here alongside the composers who shaped it.

All Night Concert
Experience the magic of an all-night concert with renowned singer Manickam Yogeswaran and composer/pianist Lawrence Ball, creating an expansive musical space where something extraordinary can unfold through the gift of extended time.
Yogeswaran’s exquisite Carnatic ensemble, featuring L Nagaraju on violin, Abhiraam Sahadevan on mridangam and A Srinivasan morsing, will meet Lawrence Ball’s evocative piano in a unique meeting of musical traditions and improvisation.
🎵 Veena & flute will further enrich this nocturnal musical journey.
✨ Accompanying the music will be a state-of-the-art light and colour experience by Synthaesis, transforming the space into an immersive world of sound, light and colour.

Abel and Maria perform an all day concert of music by 15 composers, including many premieres. Abel is praised for his sophisticated handling of sound and stupendous virtuosity. He is particularly devoted to repertoire after 1900, to large and complex works, to rarely performed music, and collaborates closely with living composers. Alessandra Pompili plays music by Hovhaness and Gurdjieff. She is a specialist in Hovhaness’s music which incorporated music from ancient Asian and Armenian music traditions into orchestral and chamber music formats.
Gurdjieff’s music emphasised presence as its major feature.
The concert is a strong invitation to listeners to spiritual attunement and depth experience.

We are thrilled to welcome Nicolas to Planet Tree 12 for an extended-duration recital that gathers some of the most quietly radical music being written today.
Nicolas has built an international reputation on marathon performances of astonishing stamina and tenderness, and on a lifelong commitment to championing living composers — playing their music not as a curiosity but as the central repertoire it deserves to be.
The programme moves through Philip Glass and Terry Riley, the two figures who taught a generation that repetition could be a form of devotion, and sets them alongside Lawrence Ball, Keith Barnard, Jean Catoire, Melaine Dalibert, Denis Levaillant, Michael Vincent Waller and Jürg Frey — composers working in slow time, luminous harmony and patient unfolding.

An Overnight Journey with Music & Gongs

Internationally acclaimed sound artists travel from across the world for a single night of immersive sound healing. Gongs, didgeridoo, crystal and Himalayan bowls, harp, piano, voice, chimes and world instruments carry you through waves of resonance — from grounding depth into the softest meditative frequencies. Space to rest, release, dream and simply be. Stay within the sound field until morning, and leave utterly renewed.
20:00 – Doors Open. Last entry 9:00 pm. Arrive early to set up your sleeping space, settle in, enjoy a warm herbal tea, and begin to unwind in the gentle ambience.
21:15 – Breathwork & Energy Grounding. A gentle, guided breathwork to calm the nervous system, open the energetic channels, and prepare body and mind for the sound journey.
21:30-06:30 – Overnight Sound Journey. Lie down and be immersed in a continuous flow of sound, created with the piano, harp, gongs, vocals, Himalayan singing bowls, chimes, flute, and other healing instruments. The night will unfold in sonic waves designed to guide you through dreamlike states, deep rest, and inner healing.
06:30-07:00 – Silence & Stillness. A quiet space to allow the body to fully absorb the sound, integrate the journey, and gently return to waking consciousness.
07:00-07:30– Sharing Circle. An optional opportunity to reflect, share experiences, and connect in a held, supportive space.
07:30-08:00 – Pack Down & Departure. Gently begin to pack up your bedding and leave the space with calm and care.
